Music Education
I am pursuing a career that includes both music education and music performance. While at USC, I had an opportunity to teach music at ABC Middle School. This was a good experience for me, because it taught me XYZ.
Cognitive Science
At USC, I have a double major in music performance and cognitive science. Cognitive science includes research on leaning and memory, computer-based models for learning, and even the study of consciousness. These are fundamental to how we learn music, and I believe that the study of cognitive science can be applied to new ways of learning music. Cognitive science also feeds into the field of User Experience Design, which can also be important to new digital learning technologies.
Digital
The opportunities for new advances through digital technology are immense. Platforms such as Fender Play, TrueFire, and MasterClass are leading the way with lessons that will help the individual grow as a musician.
I have been using these technologies, as well as various other social media platforms. These technologies allow us to learn from diverse musicians, who have many different types of approaches and music to offer.
The future is bright for apply new digital media in of music education. I look forward to being a part of it.
